A floating layer of polypropylene cover balls for open liquid surfaces. Spread across a tank or basin, the balls replace the exposed free surface with a continuous cover — cutting evaporation and heat loss and holding back mist and fume release.

A cover ball does one physical job: it takes free surface area out of the tank. Evaporation, heat loss and mist all scale with that surface, so covering it is the most direct way to reduce them.
The floating layer replaces the open liquid surface with a closed cover, so far less vapour and heat leave the tank. Most useful where tanks run warm, stand open for long periods, or lose water faster than make-up can replace it.
The balls stay on the surface as the level rises and falls. They part around agitators, pipes, pumps and sampling points, then close up again — so the cover survives normal tank operation without being tied down.
The balls are simply poured onto the liquid. There is no frame, anchor or tank modification, and individual balls can be topped up or replaced during operation when the layer thins at the edges.
