Flexible, compressible fiber ball media for fine filtration — elastic, non-floating, high porosity and slightly denser than water, easy to backwash and highly wear- and chemical-resistant. The bed void narrows along the flow to give high efficiency, a fast filtration rate and strong dirt-holding capacity, and it is reusable with low operating cost.

Fiber ball media remove suspended solids and oil with a deep, reusable filter bed that backwashes easily.
Elastic, compressible fiber structure gives deep filtration and consistent effluent, and the media backwash easily.
Bed void narrows along the flow for high efficiency — filtration rate 20–85 m/h, dirt-holding 6–10 kg/m³.
White standard media and light-yellow modified media; the modified type lasts up to ~2 years with strong wear and chemical resistance.
Fiber ball filter media are spherical packs formed by knotting chemical-fiber filaments (polyester, polypropylene or acrylic) into balls, with a density of 1.38 g/cm³. The standard type is white with a typical service cycle of about one year, while the light-yellow modified type is chemically modified to extend service to up to about two years.
Performance: selected high-acetal vinyl or shaped polyester filaments; the large biomass attached to the surface contacts and degrades suspended solids and organics during filtration. The filter-bed void narrows along the flow, giving high efficiency, a fast filtration rate (20–85 m/h), strong dirt-holding capacity and good performance — regenerable by air-and-water backwash and suitable for various water qualities at a bed height of 120 cm.
Key features:
Physical & chemical indicators: density 1.38 g/cm³; filtration rate 20–85 m/h; filling density 60–80 kg/m³; dirt-holding capacity 6–10 kg/m³; specific surface area 3000 m²/m³; porosity 96%.
Specification: ball diameter Φ25 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 80 mm. Appearance: white spherical / elliptical; modified type light yellow / yellowish.
Packing: because of the strong adsorption, double inner-liner moisture- and water-proof packing is required for storage and transport.
Service cycle: depends on operating conditions (temperature, acidity/alkalinity, corrosive components, compatibility with the wastewater and the selected grade). A general fiber ball is replaced after about one year, while a fully new modified fiber ball lasts about two years — simply open the manhole and refill part of the media; fiber ball media are not recyclable.
Uses: widely used for high-quality water in the oilfield, chemical, power and metallurgy industries — circulating water, side-stream filtration and wastewater recovery; also pharmaceutical, food, chemical and electronics industries.
