A hollow ABS sphere that turns the flow through a flocculation basin into micro-vortices. Water is cut and disturbed on every pass through the openings, so fine particles collide and agglomerate faster — while the quiet water inside the ball holds larger flocs as a contact layer. No anchors, no moving parts.

A flocculation basin needs turbulence where the flocs are forming and calm water where they grow. A grid or baffle wall gives you one or the other; a hollow perforated ball gives you both in the same volume.
Water passing through the openings is cut and disturbed twice over a short distance, so the flow speed needed to build a strong micro-vortex field is lower than with a flat grid — short-circuiting is reduced and the basin flows more evenly.
The hollow core slows the through-flow, so larger flocs settle into a suspended active sludge layer inside the ball. That layer adsorbs finer flocs, which raises floc density and improves how cleanly the water settles out.
Balls are poured straight into the basin and float and rotate with the upflow. Stacked balls do not seal each other's openings, so there is no support frame to build and no fixed bed to backwash.
